Enjoy!
Modern Makers finally has its official website! Two months after the launch of this newsletter, it was time for me to put online a landing page showcasing this project and inciting people to subscribe. Substack, the tool I use to send you my content, offers by default a landing page highlighting your newsletter. However, these pages are very generic and the template is the same for all newsletter creators on Substack. On top of that, customised domain names are not yet available on Substack either, and as a result, all newsletters have a .substack.com URL.
In order to solve these two problems, I have just published modernmakers.io
This landing page has been created on Carrd.co and includes a Substack form allowing people to subscribe with a single click. For the purchase of the domain name, I went with GoDaddy (I have to say that I have bad memories of my past experience with OVH...).
I had the pleasant surprise yesterday to see my website featured in Parker Thompson's No-Code Report newsletter 🎉
🧰 Product
This week's announcement by Airtable is a major one and I thought it should be highlighted here. Airtable has indeed made official the obtaining of two certifications for its product: ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II. I can understand that these terms do not necessarily speak to you or arouse as much enthusiasm as the announcement of a new feature for example. And yet ...
The deployment of SaaS tools and solutions can be complicated (if not impossible) within some organisations (corporate clients, institutions etc) without such certification. These certifications will certainly boost the adoption of Airtable and its Enterprise plan.
So this is an important news for Airtable of course but also for the whole no-code industry in my opinion. Among the fears or limitations often raised about these tools, data management and protection are regularly highlighted. The fact that a no-code tool takes these issues very seriously and allocates so much resources to obtain certifications of this type is a great achievement for the entire no-code industry.
In the process of obtaining these two certifications, Airtable used its own product and therefore an Airtable base to manage in the best possible way these processes, which are extremely tedious.
In order to help other companies trying to obtain these certifications, Airtable is open sourcing the custom Airtable template they used. I really appreciate this attitude !

A new plugin is available on Bubble's marketplace. Thanks to Peltarion's plugin, Bubble users can now integrate a learning machine dimension in their applications. Data retrieved from Bubble can be used to train learning machine algorithms created on Peltarion which will then be used within the Bubble application to perform a given action.
Peltarion gives us a real use case with an application who can detect from a picture whether a component manufactured on a production line is defective or not.
This new plugin can then allow you to inject a dose of artificial intelligence in your Bubble applications. This will give a whole new dimension to the projects you can create on Bubble.

⌨ Projects
This week, Quentin Villard launched TIMS, a collection of more than 200 free tools allowing anyone to start their own digital project. The referenced tools are grouped by theme, covering all the components of a project : Design, Illustration, Automation, Distribution, Monetization etc.
With this curation work (Quentin claims to have tested and validated all these tools), TIMS saves a lot of time for those who want to move forward as quickly as possible on their next project and who don't necessarily know which tool to use.
As part of the TIMS launch, this list of tools is currently available for $29.
For this project, Quentin used the following stack:
Brizy to create the landing page
Airtable for the database containing all these tools. Quentin can then easily share this database with his customers
Gumroad, the platform allowing Quentin to sell this digital product
Figma to create mockups

âš’Â Tutorials
Jack Vaughan from Glide offers us a series of videos on Youtube explaining step by step how to create a mobile application. Jack also takes the opportunity to present in detail some of the latest features available on Glide.
This application called Insiders offers a selection of articles, videos and podcasts grouped together under a course format. The application also makes it possible to condition the display of this content according to the type of account the user has: free or paid. The app therefore integrates a payment module via Stripe and also allows each user to create his list of courses / favorite contents.
One of the really interesting features is also the possibility for the admin of the app to be able to add/modify content directly from a screen of the application as well as to approve (or not) content suggestions submitted by users.
For those who would like to see the database used for this application, the Google Sheet of this project is available for free at this address. You can test the application and purchase the template for $14.99.
This tutorial includes 8 videos for a total of more than 90 minutes. A very good investment for those who would like to better understand how Glide works.
